ABOUT EVOLVE
If you answered yes to this question, perhaps you are ready to EVOLVE.
At Evolve Psychotherapy, recovery from an eating disorder or disordered relationship with food truly comprises of your personal evolution. By definition, to evolve is to gradually change and shift one’s belief system. This inherently implies that the process will take time and will be based on your readiness. Together, you and I will determine how to move towards the life you want for yourself by rediscovering your personal values, finding meaning in life outside of the eating disorder/disordered relationship with food, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that were lost along the way.
Eating disorders are highly complicated neurobiological conditions. Therefore the initial work will focus on making necessary behavioral changes prior to transitioning to understanding the function of the eating disorder and establishing more effective, life enhancing ways in which to meet your unique needs.
ABOUT Janelle
Janelle Lenhoff is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Janelle earned her Bachelors of Science from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth Texas, her Masters in Professional Psychology from William James College, and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College (formerly known as The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology) in Boston, Massachusetts.
After working in numerous clinical settings including an elementary school, university, inpatient hospital, and outpatient mental health center, Janelle relocated to South Carolina to pursue a position focusing on her passion of treating individuals struggling with eating disorders. She served as Clemson University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Coordinator of Eating Disorder Services for five years prior to opening her practice. In an effort to better serve and connect with the community in need, Janelle established “Evolve Psychotherapy”, and has expanded virtually across 28 states.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Individual sessions are available virtually. Virtual sessions will be conducted via a HIPAA compliant, secure software platform. Virtual sessions are available to individuals throughout 28 states (plus D.C.):
Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia.
Individual therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space in which to address your needs. Together, we will identify therapeutic goals that move you towards a valued life. I practice largely from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) theoretical perspective, but will pull from different approaches based on your personal needs. Additionally, I ascribe to a Health At Every Size (HAES) approach and encourage intuitive eating principles when clinically appropriate.
Unlike many other mental health conditions, eating disorders require medical management and nutritional counseling. I strongly adhere to a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and will happily refer you to a medical provider and nutritionist in the community. I will request that you sign a release of information that enables me to consult regularly with your physician and nutritionist in order to provide you with the best, most comprehensive care possible.

INSURANCE
I am an out of network provider which means all payments must be made in full at the time of services. Both cash and checks are accepted. Insurance companies may offer “out of network benefits” which will reimburse you for a portion of your payment. I strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider to inquire about these benefits (see below). If your insurance company does offer such benefits, I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.
Some questions to ask your insurance company:
If I receive mental health services from an out-of-network provider, how much does my plan cover?
Do I need to get approval prior to meeting with an out-of-network provider?
How do I submit a claim for mental health services from an out-of-network provider? What specific information is needed?
CANCELLATION POLICY
Understandably in life, things arise and you may need to cancel our scheduled appointment. Since the appointment time will be reserved specifically for you, I request that you provide me with 24 hours’ notice. The late cancellation fee (less than 24 hours) will be the full cost of the session. The fee for a missed appointment will be the full cost of the session.
